About the Role.

Halter is looking for an Account Manager Lead to own the retention, renewal and expansion of our existing revenue across the Lower South Island. You'll lead a team of field-based Account Managers, making sure farmers are getting real, ongoing value from Halter - and that they understand the impact it's having on their business.

This is as much a people leadership role as it is a commercial one. You'll coach and develop your team, build out Halter's account management capability in the region, and hold Halter's operating principles as the standard for how you and your team show up every day.

This role is based in the Lower South Island, New Zealand. Travel across the South Island will be required as part of this role.

What Your Day Could Look Like.

• Leading the team responsible for retention, renewals and expansion of Halter's existing revenue in the region.

• Making sure farmers are extracting full value from Halter to achieve their goals, and understand the impact it's having on their farming business.

• Leading customer engagement and building valued relationships with farmers, their teams, families and animals - understanding the right touchpoints to help them get the most out of Halter.

• Leading, managing and supporting your field-based Account Managers, driving high performance across the team.

• Adapting and leading Halter's training processes so your team is continuously developing, in line with the company's Principles and objectives.

• Fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing, achievement and collaboration across the sales organisation.

• Working cross-functionally to refine and improve the Halter customer experience, always looking for ways to innovate and upgrade our service.

• Identifying skill gaps, setting clear priorities, and coaching your team to enhance performance and support their professional growth.

• Playing an active role in scaling the team as Halter's presence in the region grows - identifying future hiring needs and leading recruitment to build a high-performing team.

• Living and leading by Halter's operating principles, holding them as the standard for yourself and your team at all times.

The Traits That Matter.

• A track record in people leadership, or you're an excellent individual contributor who is ready and excited to take the next step into leadership.

• Someone who wants a people leadership role for the right reasons - genuinely motivated by developing others and building great teams, not just chasing the next title.

• Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to earn trust with farmers and understand what success looks like for their business.

• A coaching mindset - you get energy from helping others improve and grow.

• Comfortable operating in the field and building out a team across a region as it scales.

• Experience in agriculture, farming, or rural New Zealand is a strong plus.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to represent Halter's value proposition with credibility.

• A great human first.

• You bring integrity, humility and care. You do what you say you’ll do. You show up for our farmers and our teams.

• Lifelong learner mindset

• You’re genuinely curious. You ask questions, seek feedback, and are excited to keep leveling up alongside a world‑class team.

• Hunger and grit.

• You love chasing ambitious goals, solving hard problems, and sticking with it when things get tough.

• Positive energy and team spirit.

• You lift the people around you, not drain them. You enjoy collaborating, sharing ideas, and celebrating others’ wins as much as your own.

• Comfort in a fast‑moving environment.

• You’re at your best when things are dynamic. You can work autonomously, manage your time well, and stay focused on what matters most.

Our Benefits.

• Healthy body, healthy mind. We’re partnered with Southern Cross Health Insurance to support your well-being.

• We offer 6 months of fully paid parental leave for primary caregivers, 4 weeks of fully paid secondary caregiver leave and many other parental benefits that support you and your family.

• Our personal growth is important. Halter offers an annual $1000 self-development budget to be used for anything that fuels personal growth.

• Our time to recharge is valued, we’re offered wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave.

• Importantly, we offer an inclusive and attractive remuneration package made up of salary, benefits and an employee stock ownership plan.
