Business Operations Associate

About the Role

We're looking for a Business Operations Associate to help keep Obelisk running smoothly as we grow. This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys the "behind the scenes" work that makes a business tick - clean data, clear processes, and nothing left waiting to be chased.

Experience in a legal, professional services, or compliance environment would be an excellent fit, such as a senior paralegal, legal operations professional, or operations administrator. This role reports to the CFO.

Responsibilities include:

Workflow consistency and data quality

• Writing and maintaining our operational process library as workflows are built and refined
• Running a weekly rhythm of checks e.g. data quality, supplier renewals, compliance flags, job records/timesheets
• Tracking recurring data issues and surfacing patterns

Compliance and supplier administration

• Building and maintaining a register of key operational and systems suppliers
• Tracking statutory / operational compliance requirements
• Maintaining the insurance policy schedule and renewal calendar

Systems administration

• Acting as first point of contact for routine operational system queries, from Microsoft 365 to our own proprietary system
• Process improvement - spotting opportunities to simplify processes or remove inefficiencies

What we're looking for:

• Experience managing multiple workstreams simultaneously i.e. project management or business analysis
• Systems-confident and curious - you are genuinely interested in how systems connect and where data flows break
• AI-aware and open to learning
• Able to work at pace and independently, confident managing multiple workstreams
• Familiarity with ALSP structures or in-house legal team operations would be useful
